How do I create a rule?

The M-board enables optimized price and assortment management, specifically focused on optimizing the contribution margin. With the help of individually configurable general settings and rules, the contribution margin calculation can be precisely adjusted

Log in to M-board account

Open 'Rules'

  • Click on the rules section


In the general settings, you can define various parameters that influence the contribution margin calculation

General Settings

Total Shipping Costs

Shipping costs paid to the shipping service provider for an order

Return Costs

Return shipping costs paid to the shipping service provider for an order

Shipping Costs for Customer

Costs charged to the customer for the delivery of an order – applicable only to Amazon and OTTO

Packaging Costs

Expenses for packaging materials and the effort required to prepare an order for shipment

Minimum Contribution Margin

Minimum contribution margin (in %) that an order should generate

Average Return Rate

Estimated return rate for the contribution margin calculation if the exact return rate is unknown

Minimum Selling Price (MSP)

Items below this selling price will not be imported into the M-board inventory

Minimum Order for Product Return Rate

Minimum number of orders that must be reached before the return rate for individual items is used

Brand Blacklist

A list of brands that are generally excluded from sale on online marketplaces


You can set parameters (e.g., minimum discount) for different (sub-) assortments individually through rules

You can add an action (e.g., minimum discount) to the rule using the "+" symbol. There is a wide range of different actions for various use cases

Minimum Retail Price

Minimum Discount (in %)

This is the lowest discount that should be applied to an item

Maximum Discount (in %)

This is the highest discount that can be granted on an item

Minimum Contribution Margin (in %)

The minimum contribution margin that an item should achieve

Average Return Rate (in %)

Estimated return rate used for the contribution margin calculation if the exact return rate is unknown

Stock Upload

If disabled, the selected items will be transferred to the marketplace with a stock of 0 (default: enabled)

Shipping Costs (in €)

The cost charged to the customer for delivery of an order – only for Amazon and OTTO

Order Cap

The maximum number of open orders a branch should receive. Note: Branch(es) must be selected

Dynamic Pricing

If disabled, selected items are excluded from dynamic pricing (default: enabled)

Delay in Days

Defines how many days after goods receipt the item with stock > 0 will be transferred to the marketplace

Minimum Retail Price

Items under this retail price will be transferred to the marketplace with stock 0

Minimum Stock (in units)

Items under this minimum stock (at the EAN level) will be transferred to the marketplace with stock 0


By using the "+" symbol, you can add various attributes (e.g., brand, season) to the rule and specify which parts of your assortment the rule will apply to

Store

Stock (in pieces)

Stock of the item at EAN and store level

Age in days after the item’s entry

Tag from Inventory Management, if available

Company

Stores can also be grouped within multiple companies. The rule applies to all stores within a company


Finally, you have the option to add a brief description to the rule, limit it to a specific marketplace, or set a time frame for its validity using a time control

The created rule will appear in the rule overview

Important

The higher the rule is positioned, the higher its priority. You can also switch between a compact view and a full view for better clarity and display only active rules.
